Data as Art
Sculpture + Data Forms + 3D + Data Visualization
What started as a project in Carolina Trigo’s class at Art Center, has turned into a theme I have continued to explore well past my time in college. Using unaltered data sets, I use the numeric values to “design” models, forms and surfaces, as the artist and designer I try to have the lightest touch possible and take a backseat to the data. I create limited parameters in which the data can present itself in different forms. I then create physical sculptures inspired by my greater understanding of the information the data provided. This continued project is an exploration in human and computer translation and interpretation of data.
